Haven't need anything fixed in the hotel room yet, so the bellhop has nothing to do except room service so far.īTW, I noticed that about where the maid wants to stand, d_dgjdhh ! Funny. Others come in scripts where you run them from one system to install over the net the necessary pkgs for the installation. Thanks everyone for the ems to be working as far as the maid cleaning and filling in the holes dug by my sims for the treasure map. Then there are distros that come in images of actual installations and you just copy them into a partition and customize them. Make sure you install a kernel and a boot loader before you reboot., at least! Arch is so flexible you can even install void from arch since you can have void's pkg installer run in arch. Void (xbps) and Arch based (pacman) distros allow you to do this and build the system how you like it. Then you chroot into that mount and fix up the system how you want it. So if you mount your new partition into /mnt the package manager can install the base system, filesystem, the pkg manager itself into that alternative root. In some systems the package manager allows you to install things into a different root. In others it take a bit more manual work. In some systems all you have to do is mount the partition and type # cp -ax (where a means all and x means except for the things that you should never copy). Then you copy the live system into the /mnt/ but you should leave out things like /proc and of course /mnt itself. mnt is a good place to do this when it comes to installation. On any live system you can make a new partition (or have it done in advance) and mount it.
